Incline

For this one, you will need two dumbbells or a barbell, an incline bench at an angle between 45 and 60 degrees, and feet flat on the ground. Lean back slightly, so your spine is resting against the bench. Hold the weights directly over your shoulder blades.

Your arms should be straight, with your hands facing forwards, thumbs wrapped around the handles. Exhale and press the weights upwards, keeping them close to your face. As you exhale, bring the weights down towards your chest, keeping your elbows extended to about 45 degrees.

Keep your torso upright throughout the movement. Breathe in deeply as you lower the weights, then breathe out as you raise them again.

Perform the press exercise 3 times and then rest for 2 minutes before performing another repetition. Perform 5 repetitions at least once per week. If you are doing heavy weights, you may need to start with lower rep ranges.

Decline
